No magic solution for weight loss

It would be great if there were a magic solution for instant weight loss. However, the truth is that watching what you eat, reducing calories, and exercising more is the only tried and true way to change your weight and reduce the health risks associated with abdominal obesity.
A positive approach to healthy weight management focuses on changing our behaviour rather than focusing on our weight.
- Focus on achievable, sustainable, behavioural goals
- Adopt a positive attitude towards food
- Eat slowly and enjoy your food
- Avoid non-hungry eating
- Do your best not to get too hungry as it can lead to overeating
- Plan ahead to have some good food on hand
- Fine tune your fat content without cutting it out altogether
- Look after and nurture yourself—invest In your enjoyment of life
- Differentiate between being thin and being healthy
- Exercise—look for opportunities to move, walk, take the stairs etc
